October Meeting Notes

Good Afternoon,

Here are the notes from the October Team Meeting.

1. Check all returned materials for Central/Discard/Friends.
2. Float Duplicates please.
3. Self-Check improvement noted.
4. HEAR WPR #1 conference in the next 2 weeks. Please review your HEAR plan.
5. Complete your Health assessments - deadlines approaching.
6. Time Punches. Please make sure you clock in at 8 after the hour or they might force us to wait til 15 after.
7. Friday late opening and celebration at Central.
8. Holiday time off requests - based on coverage.
9. Shout outs.
1. Great teamwork handling influx of materials.
2. Awesome improvement and increase in programming.
3. Terrific holiday decorations.

FEMA Guidelines

Hello!

Here are the instructions that I received from the FEMA Training.

1. Go to https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ and click Apply Online.

2. Emphasize that they will not be allowed to move forward until they register. 

3. Wait 2-3 days.

4. After they register, they have to go to a Disaster Recovery Center (The only one in Houston is the GRB) to speak to a FEMA Agent.

5. At the DRC, they will be interviewed for approximately 20 minutes so the agent can work to get the most money for them. 

These are the only instructions that I have been given at this time. The presenter said they are putting together a more detailed presentation.

I mentioned the status of SRP prizes in today's meeting BUT since then things have changed! This is the latest from Youth Services:

06/29/17 Staff Meeting

Hello!

Here are the notes from this Thursday's Staff Meeting!

1. HEAR - Final reports are due.
2. When leaving the customer service area let someone know
3. Weeding/Floating procedures (CREW starting soon)
1. Weight limit
2. Scan all items correctly (__-Discard or __-Float)
3. Stamp with correct stamp.
4. Float boxes per week (3)
5. Subscription Items (YELLOW LABEL - DO NOT DISCARD!!!)
4. Weeding progress at each location.
5. Make sure to check in all returns.
6. Help the interns.
7. SRP - Family Prize Pack = Kid 30 Hours + Adult review of 1 JUV + 1 ADU Book.
8. Therapy Dogs are coming! July 1st begin sign up for August Start Date. Make sure that they know the kids will be reading to the dogs. This is not a storytime where a book will be read to the children.
9. Make sure to Tag the Holds that come in.
10. See if staff want to teach Citizenship classes.
11. Online banking 10 week course will start September 4th.
12. Shout-out to Holly for teaching the Bi-lingual Storytime not once but TWICE!

Family Prize Packs, more info!

Before you hand out our Family Prize Packs, make sure the customer has done these three things:

1. Completed a youth book review.
2. Completed an adult book review.
3. At least 1 youth on the same account as this adult needs to have completed the 30 book or 30 hour level.

Both Ring & Hillendahl have received the first round of prize packs, YS is working diligently to create more. 

Additionally, if we're running low on prizes, please let me know so that I can request more from YS.
